Palatal Expanders

Overcrowding, overlapping, and other tooth issues in the upper jaw sometimes occur when there is simply not enough room in a patient’s mouth for all of their teeth. In those cases, a palatal expander is used to widen the upper jaw, giving the teeth the room they need to settle properly. The adjustable expander is connected to several teeth on both sides of the mouth and is gradually widened by the dentist over the course of treatment.
