What Your Child’s First Visit Will Entail
Depending on the age of your child, the first dental visit may include a simple hands-on evaluation of tooth and gum progression. These examinations allow Dr. Khavari to determine if healthy development is occurring and to address any concerns you may have about your child’s oral health.
Older children who have more of their teeth may receive both an evaluation and gentle cleaning. Depending on your child’s age at the time of his or her first visit, instruction in brushing and flossing may also be provided. We keep our pediatric services age-appropriate and will adjust to meet your child’s current abilities and needs.
Subsequent visits to our Houston office may include more in-depth cleanings, fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and cavity detection, though these more advanced services are not typically needed during infant and small toddler appointments. During your child’s visit, Dr. Khavari will work directly with you to determine which services are appropriate for his or her current stage of development.
