Dental Emergency in Pasadena

Call us when you have a dental emergency in Channelview.

When you need an emergency dentist in Pasadena or nearby, don’t hesitate to call us. At Love Brushing Dentistry, we understand that life happens, and you can’t hold back on experiencing all that this big, wide world has to offer for fear of messing up your smile. That’s why, whether you woke up with a sudden, painful toothache, missed a line drive during a softball game and knocked out a tooth, or slipped on your bike, hit the handlebars, and chipped some teeth—we’re here for you. Whatever help you need, we can arrange either a same-day or next-day appointment. And if what you describe to us sounds like something beyond a dental issue, we may advise you to head straight for an emergency room.

Types of Dental Emergencies

You’ll probably know without being told when you have a dental emergency, but below are some of the most common ones. Basically, anything that causes you immediate pain and/or difficulty with speaking or eating counts as an emergency. Also, it never hurts to call and check with us. We’re always happy to give you guidance!

Bleeding/Mouth Pain

Bleeding and pain can be as simple as a hard bit of food stuck in your gum or having bitten your tongue. If you’re bleeding a lot, however, or see blood coming from inside a cracked tooth, call for an emergency appointment to check for infection right away.

Broken Braces

Dental braces may feel like your teeth are wearing armor, but braces are really just wires that can come accidentally loose or get physically broken by a sports collision or other mishap. Whether you have a loose wire or an entire detached section of braces, we’ve got you covered.

Chipped/Broken Teeth

Teeth can chip in two ways—when something hits them or when they hit one another. Whether you took a shot from an over-swung softball bat or fell on your chin, smashing your teeth together, we have techniques and treatments that can rebuild your smile.

Dental Abscess

Sometimes, an infection results in a sac of pus forming inside or near a tooth. That sac is called an abscess and can be extremely painful. Call us and let us drain the abscess and treat the infected tooth or area. An inner-tooth abscess may require a root canal to save the tooth.

Knocked Out Tooth

If you knock out a permanent tooth, clean it, put it immediately back in place, bite down on a handkerchief, and come see us as soon as possible; you can also just put it in some milk and bring it with you to the office. If the tooth can’t be saved, we’ll discuss replacement options, such as a bridge or implant.

Lost Filling/Crown

Fillings and crowns can come loose and get lost for a variety of reasons, whether it’s from impact, biting down on something hard, or even additional decay developing near the filling or crown. Whatever the reason, we can refill a tooth or provide a same-day crown replacement.

Toothaches

The treatment for toothache depends on its source. For instance, when tooth decay exposes the sensitive inner tooth (the “pulp”), inflammation can result and may require a root canal. When a lost filling exposes the inner tooth to irritation, replacing the filling may be enough. In cases of abscess, see above.

Root Canal

Dr. Khavari will discuss root canal treatment (anterior/posterior, molar/pre-molar, molar endo, or molar retreat) based on your needs. Love Brushing Dentistry also uses CBCT imaging to provide 3D images of canals to help make all canals visible, as well as to allow the best possible cleaning and shaping possible.
